Ok, this is my last post this year and i wanted to make something different, so, i will try to explain two matches. One is a nba match from last night and other one is a darts match that happened today.

Nba match:

New York Knicks @ Goden State Warriors

pre-match: The New York Knicks have been a bit overrated lately in my opinion. They are very lazy sometimes and depend a lot of Carmelo Anthony.
I love Golden State warriors. Its a team that if its shooters are in a good day, the team can fight for the win. They have a lot of attitude. The bad point was that Stephen Curry was not going to play due to his sprained right ankle.

Match odds

The match starts and it's very even for some time. I backed Knicks and got out for 30 € profit in both. Knicks are 8 points ahead in the end of 2nd quarter or in the beggining of the third quarter (cant remenber now). From there i cant see much attitude from the knicks and i notice that Carmelo and Amare are starting to struggle to make points and the commentators say that too. Perfect time to enter. Why? There is a lot of time left (2 quarters for golden state to recover) and knicks are getting lazy and its better players are not making points. I dont want to risk non profit money, so i put all the profit in Golden State because i expect them to recover and knicks to relax a bit.

Knicks relaxed and Golden stated recovered. Some seconds left to the end of third quarter and knicks are winning 64.61 and golden state has one last opportunity to score. Triple. bang! I was thinking to myself: "perfect!". Why? A triple like this one, is the best thing to create mumentum for the last quarter for golden state.

On the 4st quarter knicks stars continued to miss shots and golden state got 10 points ahead and i got out.
Never risk 150 € to win 20 € with 8 minutes left. Everything can happen, dont forget that.

Total points:
I entered because i saw a price that in my opinion was not correct and teams were playing slow (lazy) and missing a lot of shots. Stayed the same style for 2 quarters and in the third quarter i saw some mumentum to score and i started to green.

Nicholson in my opinion was the favorite and was going to win it with no problems if he won the first set. The opposite happened :D

Nicholson won the first set and in the second set he missed a lot of chances and created a bad mumentum. I was - 88 € here and i noticed that he started to get inconsistent while Huybrechts was getting more and more consistent. I enter in Huy and Nicholson starts to go in a really bad mumentum and the crow helps to that happen because Nicholson likes to be "the bad boy". The crowd started to mess with him and he lost his head a bit and that mumentum was really bad for him. Good for me. Nicholson had some chances on the next sets but Huy was playing the best match of his life according to the commentators.

Darts trading/ Trading tip

Hello guys, trading Darts World Championship
Unfortunately Lloyd was better in the decisive moments and there was not a surprise.
Some matches coming later so why dont you try it?
I basically look for the player with more consistency to trade. I prefer matches with big favorites because big swings are not so probable and you can use bigger stakes with less risk, normally. It's important to choose the matches that suit your style.

Trading tip-
know when to exit - for example,
in tennis you have a favorite that wins the first set and breaks in the second with four games left to win the second set @ 1.03.  I see many people that stay just for the three ticks and that is very bad especially in low rank wta.
Basically, a good exit point is when your player has to do a lot just to win a very small number of ticks. Learn to identify these situations.
Nba can be another example. if your team is 12 points ahead and it is not a strong favorite and the price is already very low and if there are 2 and a half quarters left to play, maybe, leaving its a good decision. Because  the price is already low and the other team can comeback very easilly because some teams tend to relax when they have a good advantage.

not much trading lately but today i decided to take some time to trade and there was a dart's event, so, i decided to trade it. Darts is great to trade. It suits my trading style. You can notice players psychological side very well and notice when they get frustrated very easilly.

Trading tip

specially for scalpers
-  Use two stakes. One for the scalping and other one some ticks away. There are people that take prices with very low value and you can take some advantage of it waiting that someone match your money in a position with a lot of value.
Of course this advice doesn't apply to all trading styles in different sports.

Real was going to risk more and Barcelona dominating the midfield would have more chances to score.
Im a very big Madrid fan but we have to leave emotions outside and trade what we see, not what we would like to happen =).

New experiences/finals coming/free time section

Hello traders,

Have been very busy lately.
I'm studing and trading new sports while there is a tennis break so there is no much time left. I think that is very important for every trader to master more then one activity. I have been doing a lot of horses and greyhounds  races pre live and i think it a very interesting trading style and there are a lot of patterns. So, if you dont know what to trade, try simulation mode in one of the softwares and try trading one different sport. With time, you will start noticing some patterns and you will learn with mistakes The trick is to learn from mistakes and adapt your trading. Don't enter in mistake cycle. Doing the same thing over and over will lead to the same outcome. In order to change you need to do something different.

Great tennis matches coming on 20th of November. My advice is: to watch some matches first and then try to adapt. These matches will be very different from the matches played so far this month. It will be more consistent, like a grand slam (probably) so you have to adapt your trading a bit.  
I will trade all the tournament with students so if you want to trade it too with our group, check students packages. (the classes and live trades are in english)

Learn from losses/Trading classes info/Daily update/music recommendation

Hello traders,

Today i would like to talk about learning from losses. I think its the first time i talk about this subject. Most of traders in the end of a tennis match focus on the red and just have negative feelings. That is very bad. So, the solution is to change the focus in the end of the match. So, on what can we focus? You can focus on learning from losses. How can you do it? From now on, in the end of the match always ask yourself this question:
"What can i do better next time?"
This way you will change your focus, you destroy most of the negative feelings and you still learn from your losses and gain experience. Simple but powerful.
You will be amazed with the results of changing focus.

I had a lot of emails about trading classes lately. I said some time ago that would lower the price of trading courses if there was a lot of people interested. So till the end of November 15 days guidance will be 150 € and 30 days 250 €. Europe is not in a good state right now so this is a way to help traders that would like to invest on their trading.

Not much trading lately for me because im studing for a test and in part time helping traders. Today just traded Roddick for 22% and Stepanek for 20 % with the students on skype.

Stepanek match - I was not very sure about his form. Made a quick trade for 20 % and left the match.

Roddick match - 1.35 looked very good to me and i had no reasons to dont back him. I saw his last match against Ferrer and he was very tired but it was 15 days ago. The main problem that i could have was his effort. In the first two games i saw that look in roddick's eyes that he really wanted each point. Conclusion: Stayed with the position open. He broke and held and i left for 22 %.

Backing big favs?/ Classes info/ free time section

Hello traders,

one week ago i was in ts chatroom and i said i was going to back a very big favorite and someone in the chat asked me and was a bit confused if there was value on doing it in the long term. The answer to this question is simple. It has as long as you have a predetermined exit for the trade. Its is possible to profit in long term going in big fav games.
Imagine that you have a player with a odd of 1.25. If i know that the probability of reaching 1.15 is bigger that reaching 1.35, we can take advantage of it and build a simple systems. This is just one idea ;P
Every match is different and its important to build indicators. The price is not enough. Of course you will want to back a good and consistent player, an example of an indicator.

Have some people interested in trading classes and would like to share some info about trading classes. I just can give trading classes till the end of November because i will have exams in mid December and January. My idea is to gather 3 students max. Its very nice to learn with other students because you can become good trading partners and help each other motivate every time. I started classes some months ago and i think the result so far is very nice and i learned a lot teaching too because i have my trading style and i learned other student's style and tried to help them a lot. I hope they are still following the money management rules ;P because if they arent i will email them all the time complaining and try to change their minds. This is a big project that has been evolving and will try to improve it every time i can.

New ideas/Thinking strategy to accept losses/chat in the blog

Hello traders,

Very early matches in the last weeks, going to bed at 10:30 pm and wake up very early, its the daily trading routine when its possible.

Today i would like to talk about what i have doing in the last weeks. Apart from university, i have been doing a lot of football trading (in unders) trying to get some consistency and since last week i have been developing value trading for tennis and sharing this work with my students in the ideas blog. About this subject, i had a "click" in my head some days ago and got me thinking in some ways to improve it and get some advantage of some indicators. So far i'm testing these new ideas and just tested in two tennis matches and worked very well without too much risk. Maybe ill talk more about this subject in the future if i get some people commenting this post about this subject.

Accept Losses -it's fundamental for having success in trading and its probably the most difficult thing to learn.
Trading is a probability game and losses are part of it.

My tip this week is to dont focus in the money you are going to make when trading a match, instead, think in protecting what you have and the ammount of money you feel comfortable to lose from your bank. Then imagine that you had that loss to your bank and think about your reaction to that fact and make yourself feel good with the loss.

Example: You have 1000€ in your bank. You have your position and you want to lose 20 € max (for example). Imagine yourself with 980€ and feel good about it.


Remember: Focus on protecting your money, dont focus on the money that you are going to win.

How to use stats in trading(example)

Hello guys, a long time from last post. I started university and from now on, the time available will be smaller.

Some minutes ago (1pm) i was trading Rybarikova against Gajdosova. It was 5.2 for Ryba and Gaj held to 5.3 saving two bps and broke to 5.4. She has the mumentum, and i expect a lot of people to go in her to hold for the 5.5. But for me was a very bad position, lets see why:

When it was 5.4 if you add Gaj first serv points and 2nd serv points was near 100% and her first serv was going in near 50%. Her price was around 1.9 (cant remember very well) but in the worst case (gaj holds) we would lose 10-20 ticks and in the best case (ryba breaks) we would win around 40-60 ticks. What position would you take? i backed Ryba . She broke to 0. This is not going to happen all the time but the value was very good looking at the stats and in the long term you will win.
Just one example.

edit: I forgot to say that the position was good because Gaj was having a lot of trouble in all her serv games. If she wasnt maybe the position was not very good to take.

Hello traders,

Murray won in Cincinnatti playing a great tennis, congratulations,  but the topic that i would like to talk about its body language. The Cincinnati final was just one case where we could take advantage of body language where we saw djokovic really tired. There are players that usually do a lot of bad body language but they still play well. But for Djokovic is another history. In this case, i saw Djokovic with a very bad face in the end of first set and i stayed with my position in Murray. That is why its important to take notes everyday and build a profile for each player and this way we will be able to take advantage of these situations.

Today i would like to talk about one of the most common errors that new traders do in tennis.
Backing an inconsistent position at very low odds. You have to be careful, especially in the weeks before grand slams where players rest more and dont put 100 % most of times. My opinion is that you can back every price as long as it has value for you, but you cant back for a long time at least weak positions like this for example:

In the third set the underdog breaks and leads 3.1 and she is now @ 1.28
First of all its third set and if you are starting trading its better to avoid third sets
Second, The underdog has 3 games left to won the set. In three games she will have problems at least in one or two if the dog is a decent player. What i want to tell you is that you have to be careful backing low prices in an inconsistent market.

New experiences

I am using Bet Angel lately. Its a great software and have some good functions for my football strategies. I am doing more football trading lately and the software really helps in some automatic functions. For tennis the software is decent but in my opinion there are a lot of things to improve for tennis trading. I prefer this software rather then geeks toy because it has not so many windows and it has some automatic functions like i said before. Some people prefer Geeks for the multiple windows. I am studing more football markets and in the future i may post something about it.

One way to choose tennis matches

Today i started giving some opinions before the matches to my two students and i think it can be a good post for the blog. Why? It basically describes one way of choosing matches to trade or bet.

My opinions were:

Mardy Fish v Richard Gasquet

If Mardy plays like he usually does i think he deservs a back from start @ 1.49. He played very well against Novak and he is playing very well. I dont think that he is tired.

David Ferrer v Gilles Simon

Ferrer can have some problems because he hasnt played a lot of Hard Court matches lately but he is very good.

Andrea Petkovic v Petra Kvitova

Kvitova is playing really bad lately. Petko won her

and i think it can be a similar result if Kvitova plays with the same motivation.

Why did i choose these matches? I looked at betfair tennis page and i try to choose the most predictable matches. There are days were you have a lot of matches and you dont know which one to trade? Choose the one you think that is more predictable for you. Im sure you know some players better then others ,so, take advantage of it.

Hello traders,

Consistent tournaments are back. Results have been very good and consistent these days. Have been working with two students and so far i think they have evolved a lot and are much close to the consistency road but there is much left. We have very different trading styles but all work very well, the important thing is that you feel comfortable with your trading. In my opinion the best thing that i teached them is to take very low bank risk and taking it easy following the stake plan that i gave them. I think that the value of the classes is having someone like me pressuring always to have low risk and respect rules because one day your mind understands the benefits and changes. Taking classes and trading education is essencial because you learn so many things and get new ideias that can help developing your trading. I am sure my students have new ideias and new perspectives. What i want so say in here is not to take my classes but to say to you that if you want to take trading to the next level and you have no ideas take some trading courses to get new ideas and to have people helping you achieving consistency.

Dont use it in all matches because you will lose. Its like someone give you backing the serv strategy and you start backing everytime serv. You will lose. You have to be careful choosing the player in order to win.

One strategy that may help some people to combat greed/ tennis consistency

This strategy is one of some that i gave to my students. I'm posting it here because i think that it may help some people that want to control greed and build a good bank in a relaxed way.

It's simple:

"Ok, a lot of times traders focus too much on the money because they are looking at their betfair bank all the time and that is very dangerous because makes you greedy. One of my strategies to think in the long term is to " dont know how much money you have in you betfair bank", only being aware if you are profitable or not. Try it for one day and you will see your trading improving A LOT." I use this strategy everyday.

Tennis matches are getting more consistent these days and that's very good news. Consistent matches = very good results.

last days update/new experiences/new pdfs/free time section

Hello guys,

more than on week since the last post and that's because i have a lot of work lately with live classes and i'm doing new things to/with the students but i like it a lot : ). In this month im not going to the gym a lot of times because i prefer to run with friends at night. I went to the beach with my friends sometimes and was a very good time. Played a tennis doubles match one week ago and i need to practise more because i lost 6.2 6.2 ahah. Now, i cant complain with the players when they miss easy shots saying that i would not miss it. I missed a lot of easy shots ahah. In these last days i reviewed some losses, and this month i had more than the normal and it was explained with players motivation. One of my qualities as a trader is in identifying a good long term position in tennis and other sports, and my strategies are based in that a lot but in these last days after reviewing some losses, i think it was impossible to have long term positions in players during a match so far in this month, because most of players are not giving 100%. So i changed my style a bit for this month and now im doing matches with live pics but doing short term trades with lesser risk and bigger stakes (500€-1k). In this month i tried to do trading in football matches that had at least one team that i know very very well and i got some good results and i think i will start to take a closer look to football trading until i see that tennis players are more consistent. In tennis, at the moment im not looking for big profits in one match, instead, i am looking for doing more matches with small %. I think its the ideal style for these months when players are more inconsistent. There are some good ops in backing some players from start if you know the players very well. Other thing that i would like to say is that you have to very careful with big favorites losing the first set. There are a lot of them leaving the matches with "injuries" in the second set. So be careful if you back one of those favorites in the second set.

I know that my training classes are  expensive to some people but i made some articles about a lot of topics, like money management, strategies to relax, some of my strategies to winners market and that material is gonna be available for readers that donate at least 50€ to the blog. I think that it may help some people and give other ideas, or ways to improve their trading. I am going to do more value trades this month to improve it. For people doing this, that are some good patterns to exit the trade this month if you look careful. If you want more info on this just comment the post or send me an email.

real madrid / last days update... / free time section

Hello, how are trades going?

Real madrid is back and last night there was a lot of value with prices around 1.35 for a team that was dominating. Im not very good reading football matches but in this case it was very easy to notice that real was going to dominate the match and they did. The final score was 4.1 and Ronaldo scored a very good goal.

And by the way, the new real madrid's shirt is very nice.

In the last days i have been working a lot with my students and that's why im not updating this more times cause i'm 100% with the students. Got some good matches and some bad matches with them but the most important thing is that some of them are already thinking in a different way and looking at small things that they would not notice and taking advantage of it. Some of them are making a consistent profit already and that makes me happy.

I watched Harry Potter movie in the theater some days ago and it was a really nice movie although the final scene("after 19 years") was a bit weak. 

Don't forget that hard work is a big part of the successful trading equation. Ronaldo is one example that hard work pays off. Today for example, I arrived at my city house at 3 am after going out to party near my beach house, did Real madrid's match till 5 am and wake up at 11 am for the first match of the day. If you are organized you have time for everything. What do i win by doing this? I continue learning, i end some days with four digits and i do what i love to do and thats not a problem to me ;P
