Backing big favs?/ Classes info/ free time section
Hello traders,
one week ago i was in ts chatroom and i said i was going to back a very big favorite and someone in the chat asked me and was a bit confused if there was value on doing it in the long term. The answer to this question is simple. It has as long as you have a predetermined exit for the trade. Its is possible to profit in long term going in big fav games.
Imagine that you have a player with a odd of 1.25. If i know that the probability of reaching 1.15 is bigger that reaching 1.35, we can take advantage of it and build a simple systems. This is just one idea ;P
Every match is different and its important to build indicators. The price is not enough. Of course you will want to back a good and consistent player, an example of an indicator.
Have some people interested in trading classes and would like to share some info about trading classes. I just can give trading classes till the end of November because i will have exams in mid December and January. My idea is to gather 3 students max. Its very nice to learn with other students because you can become good trading partners and help each other motivate every time. I started classes some months ago and i think the result so far is very nice and i learned a lot teaching too because i have my trading style and i learned other student's style and tried to help them a lot. I hope they are still following the money management rules ;P because if they arent i will email them all the time complaining and try to change their minds. This is a big project that has been evolving and will try to improve it every time i can.

New ideas/Thinking strategy to accept losses/chat in the blog
Hello traders,
Very early matches in the last weeks, going to bed at 10:30 pm and wake up very early, its the daily trading routine when its possible.
Today i would like to talk about what i have doing in the last weeks. Apart from university, i have been doing a lot of football trading (in unders) trying to get some consistency and since last week i have been developing value trading for tennis and sharing this work with my students in the ideas blog. About this subject, i had a "click" in my head some days ago and got me thinking in some ways to improve it and get some advantage of some indicators. So far i'm testing these new ideas and just tested in two tennis matches and worked very well without too much risk. Maybe ill talk more about this subject in the future if i get some people commenting this post about this subject.

Accept Losses -it's fundamental for having success in trading and its probably the most difficult thing to learn.
Trading is a probability game and losses are part of it.
My tip this week is to dont focus in the money you are going to make when trading a match, instead, think in protecting what you have and the ammount of money you feel comfortable to lose from your bank. Then imagine that you had that loss to your bank and think about your reaction to that fact and make yourself feel good with the loss.
Example: You have 1000€ in your bank. You have your position and you want to lose 20 € max (for example). Imagine yourself with 980€ and feel good about it.
Remember: Focus on protecting your money, dont focus on the money that you are going to win.

Full screen betfair live video

Hello guys,
just a quick but important post.
Some days ago i read in a portuguese trading blog (http://valoresperado.blogspot.com/) a tip that was to resize the Flash live videos, like the ones from betfair and the add-on for firefox is very good. I knew there was something like this but i never searched for it. I am using it all the time lately and its great (for your eyes too).
Now you can put the betfair live video in full screen :)

How to use stats in trading(example)
Hello guys, a long time from last post. I started university and from now on, the time available will be smaller.
Some minutes ago (1pm) i was trading Rybarikova against Gajdosova. It was 5.2 for Ryba and Gaj held to 5.3 saving two bps and broke to 5.4. She has the mumentum, and i expect a lot of people to go in her to hold for the 5.5. But for me was a very bad position, lets see why:
When it was 5.4 if you add Gaj first serv points and 2nd serv points was near 100% and her first serv was going in near 50%. Her price was around 1.9 (cant remember very well) but in the worst case (gaj holds) we would lose 10-20 ticks and in the best case (ryba breaks) we would win around 40-60 ticks. What position would you take? i backed Ryba . She broke to 0. This is not going to happen all the time but the value was very good looking at the stats and in the long term you will win.
Just one example.
edit: I forgot to say that the position was good because Gaj was having a lot of trouble in all her serv games. If she wasnt maybe the position was not very good to take.
